A fantastic week walking in the footsteps of those who went before us, and to whom we owe so much. SOE Expeditions and its staff pitched the entire week perfectly. Professionally planned and delivered, with just the right amount of humour where appropriate. Excellent guest speakers complemented an already outstanding programme. I cannot praise the team highly enough and would wholeheartedly recommend this trip to anyone considering it. My sincere thanks to Craig, Adele, Matt and Bryan, together with everyone else who contributed to making the week such a memorable experience.

Our guides had planned every last detail: the trek, hotels, restaurants, baggage transfers. There was hardship, for sure, but at our survivors dinner I stood up to thank everyone for the holiday of a lifetime and then surprised myself by welling up with tears. That's how good the experience was. So thank you again SOE Expeditions!

The experience was very nice. Jimmy and Alexandra were a pleasure to be with and shared great information about Virginia Hall's history and experiences. The trip would have been enhanced with more details in advance (especially about the hike experience, such as daily distances and elevation gain) as we only received the itinerary details a couple of days ahead of the trip when some of us were already en route. Also setting expectations about the trek difficulty itself and other aspects of daily life with the group (start and end times, meal plans, etc) would have been useful. There was time to fit in more historically-relevant activities for a fuller Virginia Hall experience. Or it could have been shortened.

A mentally and physically challenging adventure with individuals from a variety of backgrounds all with an appreciation of SOE operations specifically aimed at small raider organisations Commandos, LRDG, SAS & SBS plus the resistance Sabateours of various nations. As I’ve a very close affinity with Norway and Norwegian folk the Kompanie Linge locations were of value to me, which I am looking forward to sharing with Norwegian friends and colleagues. A massive thank you to the presenters Paul (Ed) Wilson and oppo of mine. Tommy and Paul for a most enlightening night In Lochailort. The SOE expeditions Historian Bryan, most of all to our expedition leaders Craig and Adele who both brought Commando Humour into all aspects of the daily activities last but not least to Matt for greeting us at the conclusion in Ayrshire.
